It depends on your preferences, hotmail has long lost its importance as a e-mail service. Yahoo Mail is much popular but better yet gmail is the best free e-mail service out there.

They're both good, it depends on your emailing and chatting needs. MSN has a better IM system and interface.

I believe hotmail is better. I don’t know the exact reason, but I guess the interface is rather lively and bubby; yahoo, in comparison, seems boring. Same thing goes for msn and yahoo messenger.

Yahoo! is better. The Hotmail spam filters are, first of all, just horrible. Hotmail is also frequently down, and a couple of years ago somebody found the master password: "eh". Security, right? Yahoo! has a sleek and modernized interface, and it's really easy (dare I say fun?) to use.

I used to like hotmail because it had unlimited storage. However, I then switched back to Yahoo because they had a reading pane I liked and a cooler messsenger service.
However, I now mostly use Gmail. I think this e-mail is much faster and it doesn't jam up as a result of being too busy like Yahoo or Hotmail.
